How my office can help
you get problems sorted

Your 2026 Annual Report

from Kevin Bonavia MP

Updates on the

work I do as our MP

News from Parliament
and what it means for you

From Westminster to Stevenage

Standing up for our community

Here to offer advice and support

AR Rose.png

  Dear Resident,

It’s hard to believe it’s already been two years since our communities elected me to serve as the MP for Stevenage, Knebworth, Codicote, Datchworth and Aston. It is the greatest privilege of my life to represent the community I am proud to call home.

Before the election, I made five personal promises about the kind of MP I would be. They still shape how I do the job every single day.

Since being elected, my team and I have worked hard to keep those promises. We've helped thousands of local people with problems, from housing and pensions to immigration, schools and the NHS. I've visited schools, businesses and community groups across our area, spoken up for Stevenage and our villages in Parliament, and worked with local organisations to deliver practical improvements for our area.

This report is to give you an update on some of the things I’ve been doing as our MP. You can also get regular updates on this website, by following my Facebook page or by subscribing to my online monthly newsletter.

  Best wishes,

Every day is different as an MP, with many opportunities to make a real impact. Working with local organisations and being here to help residents means I can make sure I'm focusing on the things that matter when I go to Parliament and meet with ministers.

From regular casework to my advice surgeries, visits to local charities to welcoming school trips to Parliament, I make it my mission to listen to people in our area and let them know what's going on in Westminster. I also set a target of visiting every school in the constituency as our MP, to engage young people in politics. So far I'm over half way - and I'll keep going!

AR helped.png

From resolving urgent issues to queries about policy and everything

in between, I’m proud to have helped with more than 10,000 cases so far.

Not everything is within an MP's control to fix, but my team and I will always do everything we can to

help and to answer each query

as quickly as possible.

AR schools.png

I’ve visited over half of the schools in our area, speaking about Parliament and the difference young people can make. I’ve got more visits planned, and you can get in touch with my office about school visits to Parliament.

AR surgeries.png

My surgeries are a chance to hear concerns and help get things done for people all over Stevenage and our

villages. I also hold town halls and

round-tables, to hear from you

directly on the big issues and

make those views heard in Government.

AR ministers.png

Asking questions in the Commons, submitting written questions and writing letters to raise important issues, ask for information and push for action on your behalf. I'll always make local people's views heard, to ensure the Government is working

for your interests.

AR spoken.png

Speaking in debates to stand up for Stevenage on issues from fly-tipping to transport, championing everything that makes our community special, from our

world-leading industries

to the charities and groups

that bring us

together.

AR votes.png

Backing steps that have a direct impact, like funding for the NHS, schools and defence, protecting victims, and bringing key public services back under public control.

Here for help and advice

Helping local people solve problems is one of the most important and meaningful parts of my job as our MP.

I receive thousands of emails each month and my small, hardworking team works full-time to make sure people's voices are heard, their issues are dealt with and their questions are answered.

We support people with all sorts of issues, including pensions, housing, NHS care, benefits, crime victim support, employment, and problems with public services.

If you're facing an issue and think I can help, please do get in touch. I also hold regular advice surgeries - details are shared on my website or you can contact my office to book.

Here are a few examples of ways we’ve helped recently:

Secured state pension backpay, including for £9,000 and £19,000 respectively in two cases.

Arranged vital safety measures to protect domestic abuse survivors in their homes.

Helped patients who had been removed from GP registers to be put back on them.

Prevented a wrongful eviction of a constituent.

Pushed to get street lighting fixed after long delays, making streets safer.

Helped speed up delayed DBS checks to enable a constituent to start a new job.

Got service charge errors sorted, returning significant sums to residents.

“I just wanted to thank you so much... I can finally drive again, and it means so much to me. Without contacting my local MP, I think it would have taken forever. I really appreciate everything you’ve done.”

State pension issues cleared up

“Thank you for all your help with contacting the Blue badge team. This is very much appreciated. I'm really grateful for your support.”

Veteran’s Blue Badge approved

"They have put him on the waiting list for complete knee reconstruction... I can’t thank you enough for your help in this matter."

NHS surgery referral made

“I am very grateful that, following your enquiry to the DWP, my State Pension has now been put into payment and the arrears have been paid”

State pension issues cleared up

“Thank you both for your help with this, I was totally ready to give up.”

DWP issues cleared up

“I wanted to say a massive thank you to you and Kevin. We would not have received this refund without your help!”

Being our MP is about making sure local people have a real voice, and standing up for our community. I live here, I work here and I'm proud to represent the place I call home.

Every week, my team and I work with local residents, businesses and community groups, raising concerns in Parliament and fighting for investment and opportunities in our area.

For everyone I represent, in every part of our constituency, my commitment is the same:

to be local, accessible and on your side.

Working for you all year round
